Besides the frequent chatter that comes from my baby’s mouth lately (and the huge smiles that started around 3 months of age), he’s now four months old, and last week was met with some big milestones.
One, he LOVES to stand. Assisted, of course. But he’s already putting a lot of weight on his legs for long periods of time. We don’t have any exersaucer set up but it’s clear that we probably should. My mother is insisting that we lower the crib since he might pull himself up one day.
The second big milestone is that there are no more consistently clenched fists (I thought that’d last forever, but it ended about 2 weeks ago). He’s even grabbing things. He can’t hold a rattle for a long period of time, but he knows what to do. As I type this, he’s pulling on his bib and rubbing it against his face.
I wonder if he’ll walk before he crawls?
If you don’t have space for an exersaucer (we certainly don’t), look at getting a Johnny Jump Up. It’s essentially the same thing but hangs from a door frame. You can’t see it well in the picture, but the straps have loops to hang toys from. Audrey has the pink version (Jenny Jump Up) and loves it.

Cool, thanks Rochelle. How old was Audrey when she started using it?
We had one of those jump-up things for Robert, though it was such a pain to get him in to (without destroying the door frame) that we rarely put him in it… but to be fair to it, he LOVED it when we used it!
