A few days ago, the little man was trying to climb on his father’s lap. He kept saying, “I’ll be good! I’ll be good! I’ll be good!” Brian was taken by this little guy’s persistence, so he let him up on his lap. Immediately, little David wasn’t very good.
We were actually impressed; this must have been the kid’s first sentence.
Except it wasn’t. With the new potty that we bought, he was showing that he knew what “open” and “close” meant. He kept opening the lid, saying “open,” and then chanted “close” when he closed it. Doing so in rapid succession actually translated to his little “I’ll be good.”
I’ve yet to understand what he wanted to open or close when he wanted to climb on daddy’s lap, but we did think he had good intentions. 🙂
