Learning French.

David’s favorite “teddy” of all time is Bunny Bear. He got it from Aunt Rebecca when he was just a day old, and while he wasn’t truly interested in little plush animals when he was a very young baby, according to the book The Baby Sleep Solution, one of the ways to train a child is for the mother to sleep with a stuffed animal for the first few days and then give it to the child so that they feel like mommy’s scent is with them at all times. It worked.

For the first year of David’s life, Bunny Bear was just a toy he slept with. In the last few months, he’s gotten more and more addicted to it. (We tell him he can only sleep with it and that he can’t take it out of his room. As you can see by the video below, he doesn’t listen.)

In any event, lately, I’ve also been entertaining him with my iPad. He discovered YouTube and this “I’m a Gummy Bear” video, which is so popular that it was translated into maybe 10 languages (he’s found Spanish, Slovak, Hungarian, and French so far). The French version sounds like “I’m a Bunny Bear,” and that’s definitely the one he insists on playing for obvious reasons. And thus, it’s easy to say that he’s learning French. Watch the video… it gets quite good toward the end.

Yes, he’s a cute little boy.

    Usually.

Right now, he is refusing to eat his breakfast. It’s only been two hours that he’s been sitting there.

He is going to put me in labor.

    At 34 weeks.

    Just like him.

(now the cat’s out of the bag!)
