David went to school for the first time today as a big brother. He came home with this super crown. He walked in and said hello to mommy and ensured that I would see his hat. Then, he said, “I need to show bunny bear.” And that he did. He walked up to his little stuffed animal and showed it the crown. Then he removed it and hasn’t worn it since.
He’s playing this game on my iPad right now. The game asks children to locate animals. “Where’s the duck?” the game asks. David knows. He’s mastered this game for a few weeks now. But he doesn’t want to play by the rules. He’d rather guess the animals that are NOT ducks just so that he can see big fat X marks on each of the wrong animals. Such a mischevious little boy.
David is doing very well getting to know his sister. With the exception of a willingness to wash his hands, he wants to kiss his little sister Sarah all the time and says he loves her. He gives her a little peck on the head when mommy is holding him. I think when she gets older and is more playful for him, he’ll be a good brother who will definitely watch out for his sister. But of course, mommy and daddy need to make sure David gets a lot of attention and isn’t resentful of the little one. We certainly don’t have a ton of experience, but we think we’re doing a good job so far.
