Lardy Dardy.

Sarah has been saying “lardy dardy” for awhile. I haven’t for the life of me figured out why she would just keep saying that. It was amazingly cute and I thought it was a fun word for her to be saying, but what in the world was a lardy dardy?!

Well, today I was reading a book with her and pointed to the ducks on the front cover. “What’s that?” I asked. “Lardy.” “What?” “Lardy!”

Apparently she has been saying “birdy” for quite some time. (Her “more” sounds like “mar.”) And I always thought she was just giving me baby talk.

In any event, I told her the ducks were “ducks” and then read the book to her. I wanted her to repeat her lardy dardy mistake later on, so I pointed to the cover and asked her “what’s that?” “Quack quack” is what she said.

No, I didn’t tell her. She’s getting there, my cute little lardy dardy.
