Mabul.

Tonight, I read a story to the children about Noah’s Ark. Both kids listened really intently while enjoying the accompanying illustrations.

The entire book is in English, including using the word God instead of Hashem, so I would guess despite it being published by Judaica Press, it was intended to be consumed by a secular audience. Needless to say, I was shocked when we went to the drawing of the flood that David spotted some whirring/spinning water and asked what that was.

“It’s a mabul,” Sarah said. Nowhere in the text did we mention the word mabul, which is Hebrew for “flood.” Clearly, she’s picking up things in school despite them being particularly “seasonal” (parshat Noach was about six weeks ago, I’d say) and credits her “morahs” for most everything. She blows me away!
