David and Sarah had their last days of school earlier this week. David has grown tremendously this year, growing a passion in reading and especially math where he knows squares and square roots.
Before school ended, he said, “I wish there was no summer because I love school better than camp and this is the best school I ever went to.”
Meanwhile, later that morning, Sarah told me he touched some things he shouldn’t, so I acknowledged that he did a bad thing. I asked Sarah, “what do we do with David?” to which she said, “Put him in the garbage and get a new David.”
Yesterday, we were discussing our plans for today (Happy Father’s Day, Brian!) and Brian wanted to take the kids to Rye Playland. He said, “I’m going!” David repeated, “I’m going!” Sarah repeated, “I’m going!” and then our mostly inaudible and still nonverbal Alana said, “I’m going!” Yes, she really said it. She didn’t want to do it again.
Finally, we have a Danny update. At 2 weeks of age, he was rolling over from belly to back. But yesterday, I actually put him on his back in his Pack-n-Play and saw that he was ALREADY ON HIS BELLY. At three weeks of age. Yes. Really. I think it was a fluke (I’m still keeping him on his back) but it definitely happened. This kid is insane.
