It might be too early to tell, but I think we’ve experienced another baby booming generation.
I know perhaps 30 couples — and these are personal friends, for the most part — who have had babies this year, mostly since March or April.
When I was pregnant at SXSW, there are a few other pregnant women with me. One was due two days before me. (Little does she know now that he was born 6 weeks prior to that!) Two were 36 weeks pregnant. One I met (from Rackspace) had a boy.
Kristin from Microsoft had a boy. Kristen from Yahoo had a boy too. (Irony!)
After SXSW, the babies just kept popping out. First, my friend Jenny had a boy. Sarah and Josh had a boy. Kate and Dani had a girl. Yaniv had a girl too. Then Ruthie and Ely had a boy. Two friends from college, Heather and Chaim, had a girl. Barry and his wife had a girl. Then David was born. Then Chris and Danielle had a girl. Then Rachel and Avi had a boy. Then my cousin had a girl. I feel like I’m forgetting more people because I suffer from mommybrain.
I have no idea what this whole thing is about, but I find it so weird that so many people are having so many babies. What does that mean for their future?
Update: Right. Here are some couples I’d forgotten: my husband’s colleagues both had babies — one in May and one in September. My friend Julie from high school had twins 2 weeks after David was born. Rich and Maureen had their first in early June as well. Sarah, my friend from college, had #2 in June also. I still know there are more. And I have a few friends who are showing too. This ain’t over, guys!
Rochelle and Akiva had a girl just before SXSW! 🙂
Seriously. Mommybrain. But I think I remember when Audrey was born. January 21, right?
