Cute Confusion.

David is picking up on his vocabulary and understanding of things in the world. However, for him, some things are still confusing:

  • Toes vs. socks. Sometimes he hurts his foot and says “hurts socks!” Nope, little man, your toe hurts. Not your sock. He does understand what a sock is, but he thinks that once it’s on his foot, his sock can feel pain. Or something.
  • Numbers: Okay, so any 25 month old generally doesn’t speak, let alone know numbers. David knows the numbers 2 and 5 and can identify them (even in digital format on a clock). But when it comes to identifying a question mark, he goes “TWO!!!” though they’re a little different. Thankfully, Google images can save the day.
  • Horse vs. cow: This one is a funny one. He knows what a horse is (sometimes), but if asked, he’ll say “moo!” Not an animal. Not even a sound the animal he pointed to makes. He does similar things with dogs vs. cats too.
The little guy just stepped on his chair and took bubbles off the top of one of the counters and spilled it out somewhere. Time to do the mommy thing.
