Potty Training.

After one-off potty training attempts that didn’t materialize into much, we are on day two of the three day potty training method. I must say that I thought this potty training stuff would never happen, but we’ve already experimented with underwear and pull-ups and the occasional visit to the potty so he understands the concept of potty training. So far, the three day method is working!

David is off of school this week. It was the perfect time to sit him down for 3 days and force him to do this. The idea, honestly, is in keeping the child naked from waist down. (The training method also says to have potties in every room, but I didn’t see the need.) I did take precautions — we put a towel on the couch in case he peed while watching TV, but he knew to go to the potty each time and everything has remained dry. Yesterday, I think I flushed the toilet 8-10 times for him!

But … even better was the news I heard from Brian after he went to work.

David did not go to the bathroom at ALL overnight.

His diaper was clean. When he woke up, he told Daddy that he had to go potty and he did!

I am so proud of him. If he continues this (we have 2 more days to go), he will get the airport toy we bought him for his 2nd birthday that instead we used as a potty training incentive. 😉
